Turnkey GSM Base Transmission Station Construction Project

Overview: As part of a program to rapidly roll out its GSM network in Nigeria, the national carrier’s mobile telecommunication arm, M-Tel, through its main contractor awarded contracts to SAV for turnkey cell-site construction. The scope included construction of tower foundations; generator houses; security posts and fences, erection of steel telecommunication towers; varying in height from 35M to 55M; and equipment shelters. SAV carried out construction of 22 sites on a very time constrained schedule.

Transmission Mast Maintenance Service

Scope: Painting

Overview: Maintenance of the 300M AKBC television transmission mast involved corrosion inspection, checking the torque of bolts and tightening were necessary, repainting the structure and changing the beacon atop the mast. All these activities were carried out at great heights with wind speeds gusting up to 30m/s.
